台南神學院 Tainan Theological College and Seminary

The college was founded in 1876 by Dr. Thomas Barclay. He was a missionary from Scotland. He stayed in Taiwan to do missionary work and  prove the education for about 60 years. There is a church and a park named after him nearby. The main college building was constructed in 1903AD. The environment here is quiet and comfortable. A small chapel and a stone fountain are set up in the middle of the garden. One time I enjoyed my breakfast here and had good time. Of course I took the trash away. It is also interesting to take a walk in the college. There are some special old  fruit trees in the campus.

城邊Eel Noodles

It is a 40-year-old shop. There have been three generations. The taste of eel noodles is sour and sweet. When you feel tired and a little hungry, it is good to eat some eel noodles because sweet food can give you energy to go on.

府城舊冊店 secondhand bookstore

The store is located near the East Gate. There are two owners who care a lot about Taiwanese literature. There are books not only about Taiwanese literature but also about the culture and democrary in Taiwan. Sometimes the owners invite book authors to give a speech, and share some wisdom in life. Maybe you can find interesting books here.

藏經閣 green lifestyle place

In order to encourage the environment-friendly life, the government established the institution to help and educate people how to care and protect our environment. It holds environmental education classes, recycling, furniture auction, environmental DIY classes and flea market periodically. If you want to buy wooden furniture that is inexpensive, you can come to visit this place. Many repaired furniture are sold by auction. You can visit here from 9:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday. The auction time is the first Saturday every month, from 8:30 to 12:00.

參加這個課程，其實一開始是因為對其中的元素~台南、英文感興趣，加上覺得老師很親切，就加入了。參加後，發現老師真是使出渾身解數，每個星期都給予我們不同的刺激和收獲。

例如:從基礎的英文發音、連音，了解外國人會將許多單字自然的連在一起，以前只能知道其中幾個，沒想到老師將其連結方式整理出來給大家，讓人下次在聽外國人說話時，更有所依循；老師還會讓利用許多小遊戲、觀賞和台南有關的影片、或資料等方式來設計問題，讓大家有許多英語口語練習、表達的機會，強調不用複雜語句，而是用簡單的英語句子來互相溝通、表達，並給予肯定和回饋。此外，老師還安排旅遊方面的專業人士為客座講師，為我們介紹、示範以英語導覽外國人士時，可以使用的方式、應該注意的事項，讓我們對以英語導覽外國朋友的方法，有更具體的概念。

最後老師安排地圖達人，為我們講解如何繪製出自己家附近的導覽地圖，並挑選一位同學所介紹的導覽地圖，實地戶外教學、踏查，那晚，微風徐徐，老師和同學輪番以英語實地導覽，大夥人邊走邊聊，最後坐下來喝晚茶，笑談之間，真能感受到台南最美的人情畫面。總而言之，這門課會讓人覺得不只是英語的交流，更是文化的探討與思考。
